Saying your vows alone or with a handful of people, on a beach, a coastal trail or a mountain plain. An elopement in Corsica is not a smaller wedding — it's a different one, built entirely around the place and the light.
The legal side
Symbolic in Corsica, legal at home
In France, a civil marriage takes place at the town hall of the commune where one of you, or one of your parents, lives. If you don't live in Corsica, your elopement will be a symbolic ceremony, and the legal part happens at home — often very simply, a few days before or after.
That is how most couples from abroad do it. It also frees you completely: no opening hours, no paperwork on the island, and the ceremony can take place wherever and whenever the light is best.

Where to elope
Places we know by heart
An elopement doesn't need a venue for 150 guests, which opens up places that would otherwise be impossible. Two precautions: some natural sites are protected — a discreet ceremony is fine, an arch, chairs and a sound system are another matter — and access matters when you walk in a wedding dress.
Capo di Feno
A wide, wild beach twenty minutes from Ajaccio, almost always windy, with extraordinary evening light. Our favourite place for couple sessions.

Timing
Build the day around the light
With no guests to feed and no caterer's schedule, you can place your ceremony exactly at the right moment. That is the real luxury of an elopement. In Ajaccio the sun sets around 9 pm in late June, around 8 pm in early September and around 7 pm in early October.
Some couples choose sunrise instead: an empty beach and a calm, clear light that no summer afternoon can match.
- Late afternoon — getting ready, calmly, at your rental or hotel
- About 1h30 before sunset — the ceremony, just the two of you or with a few guests
- The last hour before sunset — a couple session in the same light
- Evening — dinner, with no timing to keep
Before the elopement
Planning a surprise proposal?
We also photograph and film proposals. Everything happens beforehand, with the one who asks: the place, the time, the exact spot where you will stop. On the day we are there before you, at a distance, with long lenses — your partner should only see another passer-by.
Once the question is asked, we show ourselves and carry on with a short session in the same light. A proposal is built to measure: tell us where and when you imagine it.
Coverage & price
Fewer hours, the same attention
An elopement has no crowd to blend into: every image rests on the two of you. Our Essential photography package — €1,200, four hours, the ceremony and a couple session, 150 to 200 edited photographs — usually fits this format well (subject to conditions).
Our wedding films are designed around a full day. For an elopement film, we adapt our presence to the real length of your day and send you a tailored quote.
- Is an elopement in Corsica legally binding?
- Not on its own. Unless one of you lives in Corsica, the legal marriage takes place at your local town hall or in your home country, and the Corsican ceremony is symbolic. For most couples, that changes nothing about what the day means.
- Do we need an officiant?
- No one has to officiate: you can simply exchange vows. Many couples still ask a friend or a celebrant to give the moment a beginning, an end and a few words that don't come from them.
- How long do you stay for an elopement?
- Our Essential photography package covers four hours — usually enough for getting ready, the ceremony and a sunset session. For a film, we adapt our presence to the real length of your day and send you a tailored quote.
